Britain’s 21 year old dental student, Joanne Eccles, lived up to all expectations when she added the World title to her European title she won last year to give Britain it’s first ever Vaulting medal in the female individual Vaulting, her father John being the lunger.
The host nation won the Team title after an excellent performance in the final freestyle, which moved them up from 3rd, ahead of Germany and Austria. In the men’s competition the pupil, Switzerland’s 26 year old Patric Looser, overcame his mentor and coach Kai Vorberg in the Alltech Arena to give his country their only medal of the games. All the best performances are shown in full.
